How to Use This Site

Treat it like a checklist. Follow the route, mark your progress, and you’ll be safely ahead of most early-game mistakes.

Pick one goal

Choose a single target for your next session (diamonds, iron gear, village, Nether).

Follow the route

Use the step-by-step path and keep the safety rules in mind. Don’t rush the risky parts.

Save your progress

Write down coordinates, build checkpoints, and turn your world into a controlled base you can grow.

Quick Cheat Sheet

Useful numbers and rules you can memorize (or keep open on a second screen).

Best diamond layer (1.20+)
Y = -59
Highest diamond density. Reliable with branch mining, but expect frequent lava.
Safer diamond range
Y = -53 to -55
Still great diamonds, slightly less lava stress for beginners.
Max enchanting power
15 bookshelves
One-block gap, nothing in between (carpet/torches in the gap can block shelves).
Nether travel math
1 : 8
1 block in the Nether equals 8 blocks in the Overworld—perfect for long-distance travel.
Piglin safety rule
Wear 1 gold piece
Any single gold armor piece keeps Piglins neutral (until you provoke them).
Easy iron progress
Mine around Y = 16
Good iron density without going too deep; usually safer and faster early game.

Session Plans (Copy & Play)

Pick a time budget and follow the checklist. Consistency beats “random exploring”.

30 minutes — Stabilize your world

Get safe, fed, and ready for the next session.

  1. Get wood tools + a crafting table
  2. Secure food (animals / crops) and cook if possible
  3. Find or craft a bed and skip the night
  4. Make a tiny safe base (chest + furnace + door)
  5. Write down base coordinates (or take a screenshot)
60 minutes — Iron gear fast route

Turn from fragile to stable: iron tools, armor, and basic mining safety.

  1. Collect coal (or make charcoal) for torches
  2. Mine iron and craft shield + pickaxe first
  3. Upgrade to iron armor pieces (start with chestplate/helmet)
  4. Carry blocks + water bucket for cave/lava safety
  5. Build a short mine at a consistent Y level and mark the way back
2 hours — First Nether-ready setup

Prepare for your first safe Nether trip and long-term progression.

  1. Finish iron kit + stack of blocks + plenty of food
  2. Bring ONE gold armor piece for Piglins
  3. Build your Nether portal and immediately create a safe portal room
  4. Mark portal coordinates and place clear path markers
  5. Leave when needed—survival > loot (come back later with fire resistance)

Common Mistakes (That End Worlds)

Avoid these and you’ll instantly feel more in control.

Mining straight down
One block can be lava or a drop. Always staircase down or dig a two-block safe descent.
No water bucket (Overworld)
A single bucket saves you from lava, falls, and fire. Get it as soon as you have iron.
No markers underground
Caves look identical after 10 minutes. Place torches consistently and mark intersections.
Entering the Nether without gold
Piglins can chain-attack you. Wear one gold piece before stepping through the portal.
Using a bed in the Nether
Beds explode. If you need a spawn point in the Nether, use a Respawn Anchor (not a bed).
Running outside the portal immediately
Build a cobblestone portal room first. It prevents instant lava/ghast/piglin disasters.
Enchanting random gear too early
Prioritize the pickaxe first. Save the best books/enchantments for diamond/netherite.
Provoking Piglins by accident
Even with gold on, opening chests or mining gold near Piglins can turn them hostile. Be careful.
Ignoring food and hunger
Low hunger reduces regen and makes fights lethal. Keep cooked food before exploring.

FAQ

Quick answers to the questions beginners ask the most.

1
Do these guides work for Java and Bedrock?
Most routes and safety rules apply to both. Some details (like mob behavior or generation) can vary by version—use the guide’s core principles first.
2
What should I do before my first Nether trip?
Bring iron gear, blocks, food, and at least one gold armor piece. Build a portal room before exploring—this single step prevents many instant deaths.
3
What’s the fastest way to stabilize early survival?
Find a village or set up a tiny safe base near resources, secure food, and avoid night roaming. Stability beats speed at the start.
4
Should I enchant early or wait for diamonds?
Enchanting a pickaxe early (Efficiency or Fortune) helps you gather resources faster. Save the best enchantments for diamond/netherite later.
5
Can I submit my own route or guide?
Yes. Use the submission section to share your guide link. Clear steps, safety notes, and version info help it get featured.
